House at Dalkey Avenue

The project comprises of the construction of a new two storey over basement private residence.

The steeply sloping site is located beside an ancient pathway (known as the Metals) from a stone quarry at the top of the hill, south of the house, which was mined to build the harbours of Dublin Bay below. The building was awarded the Best International Project at the 2014 Brick Awards and has been nominated for the 2017 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mie van der Rohe Award.

Richard Dixon Associates provided the mechanical and electrical design consultancy services for the project with individual services for the independent apartment at lower level.
